Is there a solution for heavy periods that doesn't prevent conception?

My periods are HEAVY. I wear a larger size mooncup plus night time sanitary towel, and have to change both every 1 and a half hours. Obviously, the pill/ coil is not an option as we'll soon be trying for a baby.

So what options are there??

Yes! Ask your GP for Tranexamic acid - you take on heaviest days of your period every 4 hours, it's non hormonal and lessens the blood flow to make it more manageable. I absolutely rely on it. Good luck xx

Ibuprofen helps as well. Start taking it as soon as your period starts and keep taking it.

You shouldn't take tranexamic or similar drugs WITH ibuprofen justvto be warned!

Transexamic acid is very good but be warned if you have a delicate stomach it could cause you issues there. I had to stop taking after two months as seriously upset my IBs.

How soon is soon?
