Gout?

I'm pretty sure I am going through a bad gout attack!

I am going to see how things are tomorrow and if I need to go to the walk in or wait for a GP on Monday.

I am a 36 year old female but I am overweight and drink way too much wine so could be...

Basically I have been waking up now and again (every few months) with what I thought was plantar fasciitis- woke early in the morning with a crampy very painful foot, left or right, hard to walk on but eased
Off over the course of the day and was always gone by the next day.

Had it yesterday but felt I couldn't miss work so silly of me I went in and by last night it was so so painful and today it is swollen in the ankle. The pain is bearable at rest. But very bad if I try to bear weight on it.

My husband thinks I have sprained it by walking on it yesterday but I think it's Gout! Sigh, I have taken some ibuprofen and drank lots of water and eaten some
Cherries and if it's no better tomorrow I will get it seen to, but for now am resting and icing.

Opinions? It's not sore to the touch but feels like I imagine arthritis would feel if that makes sense!

My dad has gout, if you dropped a feather on his foot during an attack he would be in agony, the pain isn’t usualky described as bearable

Yeah, I have heard that. So maybe it isn't, but not sure what else it could be. It's not bearable like smiles and roses, i can't walk and I've been in bed all day but it doesn't hurt having the covers on it.

And it's not a one off as I say it's just this time I can't walk on it and it's more swollen Sad

I thought I had gout, turns out it was a stress fracture. Pain was as you described, but not excruciating like a gout attack.

It's no better today, I think maybe I should go to A&E as I suspect a walk in clinic may send me there for an X-ray - it's not an emergency I know so don't want to but the rest and ice isn't working and I'm getting worried, what could it be? It's swollen all over my foot and ankle and agony to bear weight on- should I wait for GP on Monday? Also I can't walk! How do I get to the Docs/hospital? Sad
