Pupil not responding to light

My left pupil is larger than my right and is not responding at all to light. The GP checked today and it is responding slightly when she moves her finger towards my face. She referred me to an ophthalmologist and said it shouldn’t be anything scary. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if anyone knows what could be causing it? I only noticed it a couple of days ago my my vision has been cloudy on and off for a couple of months. I put it down to getting older as I am in my late forties.

Maegeri - its most likely an Adie's pupil which is one of those things that sometimes affects women in their 40's and is usually not due to anything untoward.

There are other much more unlikely causes, which is why your GP has referred you.

The cloudiness in your vision may or may not be associated with, but be sure to mention it when you see the ophthalmologist.
