Is it possible to dislocate a rib?

Because that’s what if feels like! In my back, just next to my shoulder blade. It’s so painful, an ache most of the time but then sudden searing pain and a grinding feeling. Impossible to sneeze or cough and hard to take a deep breath in.

Is this a dr thing?

When I was a teenager I had what my G P called 'elevated rib'. Not sure if it is what you have (obvs) but I do think you should see a doctor.

It is totally a reasonable thing to see drs for.

You need good meds - if you are subconsciously holding your rib and shallow breathing to help with pain then you are at more at risk of a chest infection.

I have a lung prob and cough a lot and have pulled the muscles around my ribs many times, very painful. ALso can have costochondritis which is inflammation of the cartilidge and be agony.

I have seen a respiratory physio for rib issues and hes taught me how to pull them back into place when they slip out of line.

I recommend heat like a patch thing or hot water bottle. and alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol (or when bad I use 30/500 cocod from gp)
