Cystitis and feeling chilly

I had a bad bout of cystitis over the Easter weekend and the symptoms settled right dwon after taken a course of powders. The stinging sensation has lessened so that now it only stings when the flow of wee finishes. I spoke to a pharmacist who said just keep drinking lots of water etc Over tha least couple of days I have also felt shivery and keep having chills. I have consulted Dr Google (naturally) which suggest that it could be another symptom of a UTI. Is it worth a GP visit? I had a minor bout of stingy wee a couple of months back but that cleared up of its own accord.

Yes definitely. If you have an infection that is not completely clearing you need antibiotics to shift it.

Definitely see your Gp so they can send a sample off. When I hit the shivers stage I know the infection stage has taken a hold and unless I get antibiotics it goes up to my kidneys.

I'd see the GP

Hi, in Scotland pharmacies can give you a short course of antibiotics for UTI without visiting your GP. Wish I'd known that before I ended up using out of hours service (in agony) after waiting too long! Definitely visit GP, the misery is not worth it.
