Blue thumb?

Hello there...

Posting on here as i had a little google but not had any luck really.

Im not sure if its anything sinister but its playing on my mind a little and not sure weather to go to the doctors.

My thumb nail goes blue. My right thumb only. Its very strange. Its happened for years occasionally, but recently it happens a lot more and i have a strange feeling in my thumb, no pain, just a weird feeling and i look and its blue. It stays like it for a minute or so and then goes back to normal.

Usually when i get up from my desk and go to the toilet i notice it.

Im pretty healthy, no conditions im aware of but i am an ex smoker (4years) but have been vaping since.

I understand this is a bit weird and wondering if anyone has any ideas why this happens. Id feel like a bit of a plonker going to the doctors and maybe wasting their time.

Sounds like mild Raynaud's and nicotine can make it worse.

I have Raynaud's and my fingertips go white and then purple/blue and feel odd/stiff. It's most likely a form of that, but if it's only developed recently I'd go to the Dr and get it checked out, as secondary Raynauds developing can be an indicator of other co-existing conditions.
