I would love any wise words on choosing an effective one where the good bacteria really reach the gut and plenty of strains etc
I have tried Symprove before but struggled with its taste and didn’t find a huge difference .

I really need to try everything as passed out from pain in my gut when it woke me in the night- it felt worse than labour which I managed ok!

I love the sound of Chuckling Goat and have a feeling its creams would do wonders for DD’s itchy skin. Though I am going to start trying cheaper options first sadly, thank you as these ideas all brilliant and good to know about

I’ve found a few over the years that are effective. My current fave is Biotics Research Bio Doph 7. Before that I quite liked the udos brand.

There is no real replacement for food sources though - try increasing prebiotic foods and find a good supplier of fermented veg - sauerkraut is far and away the best source of provable probiotic to reach the gut intact and actually remain in there working. Most supplements forms are transient.

Keifer is very easy and cheap to make yourself .

Good point @1966gettingold

The chuckling goat people also see the grains so you could make your own much more cheaply than buying ready made bottles. All the best
