quite often and every day this week, a while after eating my stomach feels bloated and hurts.

yesterday it felt like trapped wind, just on one side and the day before i had terrible pain right in the middle under my boobs.

as a kid, me and my dad were forever crunching rennies after eating.

i'm going for a meal tonight and don't want it to be spoilt.

i don't rush, i don't over eat (i don't think), i drink water.

heres what i am eating for lunch:

today : tuna sandwich and a strawberry mousse
yesterday egg sandwich and a flapjack
day before that: salmon fillet and new potatoes

for breakfast i usually have cereal and sometimes a banana.

has anyone got a clue??

do you suffer from mouth ulcers?

cheeryface · 11/05/2007 13:57

i ruled out ibs as i never have any trouble with the toilet department.

i am a stress head, but, my kids are at school so i'm not stressed when eating lunch

no, not been to the doctors. i didn't think it was worthy as it can be better after a couple of hours
but, it's annoying, specially when i need to lie on my stomach and i have to do the school run

Why don't you try doing a food diary for a few weeks and try missing various things out of your diet and see what happens. I see what you're saying about not being worthy of the doctors, but it shouldn't be hurting should it?

Mouth ulcers are a tell tell sign of a problem with the gut/stomach.

That "terrible pain right in the middle under the boobs" is definitely stomach pain.

Does the pain ease when you drink warm tea?

I got this several times, after turning a/c onto myself in the car. Funny but apparently your stomach can also "catch a cold". There is pain right in the middle under the breasts, and it hurts especially bad after you've eaten. It helps to drink hot mint infusion with lemon juice. Goes away after a couple of days.

Hope you feel better soon :-)

Did you have butter on the salmon and potatoes? If so, I'd suggest it could be a dairy intolerance. In fact it could be that even if you didn't have butter, if it takes a while for the milk from your breakfast to have an effect. You could try switching to rice milk for a couple of weeks and limit other dairy intake and see if it makes any difference.
