Breast Cancer - advice needed

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 10/05/2007 17:48

One of my pre-sch mums has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has 3 tumours which are Grade 3 and may have entered the lymphatic system.

What does this mean? Is it as bad as I think it is?

I'm off to do dinner/bath/bed but I'll be back later. TIA

Sounds pretty serious tbh

Some useful info here

Norks, so sorry to hear this. I'm afraid it is quite serious - there's more info here:

cancer grading system
lymph system

Sorry I'm not of more use, perhaps this will bump it so someone more helpful will see.

Both brilliant links. Thank you very much.

It does seem quite bleak. I'm seeing her tomorrow and have no idea what to say - the usual comforting 'you'll be fine' is hardly appropriate.

It's so difficult to know what to say when someone has been diagnosed with such a serious illness. I generally go with a very sincere 'how are you today?', that way you know if they want to talk about it or not.

Good luck, I hope her treatment goes well.
