Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to see a gynaecologist for an initial appointment? I was referred around 12 weeks ago

Check with your GP, I had choose and book so it was when appointments were available and I had to book it.

Depends on your area I suppose but I was referred in August and was seen late October. Then waited til March for the operation (laparoscopic cyst removal).

Mine was only a couple of weeks, surgery after 3 months. Other hospital 1.5 months to first appointment.

I would suggest checking with gp reception when the referral was sent, sometimes there are delays in typing the referral letter, faxing etc (not always done electronically) I would say you should have heard by now even if a long wait for the actual appointment. once you know where you were referred to phone the hospital department and ask them when appointment is. Sometimes you have to be proactive to hurry things along.
