Just last night when I got changed I realised that at some point yesterday, my toenail has gone black; the black bit is bumpy as well. What is it and what can I do??

Did you injure it?

yuckyyucky · 03/04/2018 16:27

No, not at all that I can remember

Did you bump it against something or wear shoes that are too small for you? It's basically like a bruise (blood under the nail). I don't think there's much you can do until it grows out.

yuckyyucky · 03/04/2018 16:28

Definitely not an infection then??

I don't think so - an infection would be more likely to be red or swollen.

If it’s blood Andreus pressure has built up you can release it with a hot pin by puncturing a small hole HOWEVER I don’t know what else it could be and given it’s happened overnight and without any specific cause, you could maybe see your gp.

You should see a gp if you have no recollection of injuring it.

Andreus?? That should have read - under it
