When to drive after surgery?

I had keyhole surgery nearly 2 weeks ago for a liver biospy.
All went well and I was discharged the day after.I am now feeling well, no pain, stitches still a bit tight and I am being cautious with lifting but otherwise really good.
I am not sure what to do about driving..advice prior to leaving hospital was about being able to do an energency stop..but I obviously need to be in my car to test that.

I can't find firm advice and don't want to invalidate insurance or take unnecessary risks so not sure when to start driving.

Is 2 weeks post keyhole surgery generally ok to drive if no complications?

If you feel able then drive. I was driving 2 weeks after c-section no bother.

Insurance companies won’t give you advice because they defer to your medics who are qualified to give you specific advice. Generally for abdominal surgery you get told that you’re ok once you can do an emergency stop. Try working the pedals (engine off) and see how it feels.

Thanks..good idea to try the pedals!

Just hard to get a definite answer and I live rurally so driving is pretty essential.
