it's level with the top of my hips but about 2 inches away from my spine......it's about the size of a pea, and moves around when i feel it.

please somebody tell me it's nothing serious.....will get a dr's appointment soon as possible.....

i just needed to write this down, can't tell dp just yet.

I've got one of those. doc said it was stress.

actually I think it's gone now. had it for 10 years. nothing sinister.

i am stressed, and quite run down too........i was rubbing my back at work earlier and felt it. i went cold all over....have just lost a friend to cancer (funeral tomorrow) and it's made me panic like mad. it's why i can't tell dp.....we're all very emotional at the moment.

I had one of these a few of years ago, and panicked, like you. Went to see the doctor, who told me it was a fatty lump, and would probably just disappear of its own accord. It hung around for a while, but there's no sign of it now. I wouldn't worry, but just get the doctor to check it out, just to put your mind at rest. You will feel extra vulnerable and panicky because of your friend. Try not to worry. Let's know how you get on. xx

sorry about your friend. you probably are jumpy, you're right.

It's almost definately nothing, but do go to the docs and maybe also take the chance to ask if there's anything you might do differently if you had a year to live. It's a question everyone should ask every now and then.

Senora, i dont think that post is in any way appropriate.

I think the fact that it moves is a good sign, it sounds like fat to me. Seen lots of fatty lumps in dogs and they can be quite hard too. doesnt mean you are fat of course

saggers · 10/05/2007 08:10

I was really slim when I found mine

saggers · 10/05/2007 08:14

And I think Senora's comment was thoughtless - not at all helpful to someone who's worried abot cancer.

saggers · 10/05/2007 08:14

about, sorry

Sorry if this is TMI (so don't read if eating)i had one between my shoulder blades (it also moved an was a bit squishy ..eww) Dr said it was harmless.. squishy is good, he said he could remove it but it would leave a scar so i left it,a couple of months ago i knocked it by accident it got really red and painful and throbbed, i lay down on my back one night and it sort of exploded.. (didn't hurt) lovely green pus came out.. chucked some tcp on it and it healed over (flat) within a week .. slight scar but a bit of bio oil is working its magic

Get the dr to check it, but hopefully its a yuck rather than a
