Bloating, wind, unpleasantness

Every day I get this and it’s getting worse. Some times of the month are worse than others.
It’s like my stomach just balloons over the course of the day.
My head is telling me I should cut out bread or whatever but I get so hungry during the day that if I eat soup, salad etc for lunch instead I end up feeling grim by dinner time.
I drink a lot of water and have cut down on dairy a bit although have milk in coffee.
I just want to get to the end of the day without looking like I’m 5 months pregnant and feeling just full of horrible air. What can I do?

Definitely sounds diet related. I developed that sort of thing in my 30s. It was related to white wheat flour. I switched to wholemeal bread and swapped sandwiches at lunch for a jacket potato. That solved it for me.

And If I make a cake now, I use rice flour and seems ok.

Try peppermint tea. Switch to gluten free bread if you can’t give it up. Reduce white pasta intake. Skimmed milk.

I never believed in gluten, or food intolerance.

I assumed it was all mumbo-jumbo marketing.

(Like the food industry's answer to Astrology. What food intolerance are you?)

There are labs that sell you home testing kits for Food Intolerance. I was sure this was nonsense as mine said I was intolerant to juniper, wheat and yeast, among other things.

In other words, the ingredients of gin bread and beer.

But recently I've been getting wind, then stomach cramps, then the permanent sensation that I'm 'touching cloth' when I'm not.

What does it all mean?

I can't go back to the doctors as I can hardly look them in the eye these days I'm so embarrassed about bothering them.

Anyone got any advice?

@ohthisbloodycomputer that’s how I feel most days, I’ll need to cut bread right down.

I did try peppermint tea for a while but I found it caused bloating and wind unfortunately, shame as I love the taste.

HulaMelody

I was in agony last night.

I've had some sort of weird pain in my elbow, which i'm told is the nerves rather than the muscles, and nothing would calm the inflammation. So a couple of days ago I took some tramadol I had left over from a bike accident. It took away the pain, but the thing about that particular drug is that it cures one oain, and creates another.

I became completely bunged up. Didn't go to toilet for two days, which was probably what was causing the bloating. I felt like I was going to explode!

I had to take tablets for that. Which led to even more stomach cramps. Worse than the pain in my elbow.

If I've learned anything from this it's to avoid taking Tramadol at any cost.

I'm not going back to the doctor as I'll get told off for not throwing the tramadols away. (they're three years old now)
