Brief description : had sterilisation exactly one week ago. Nurses advised normal recovery 5-7 days. Hubby took 6 days off to help with kids (14,11,2) done nothing strenuous all week and no heavy lifting. Pain manged by prescribed dihydrocodeine. Pain has been quite bad. Can't bend down without it hurting (feels like I'm being stabbed in left side) walking like John Wayne and basically feel like pants. Today we took littlun to soft play, with hubby playing with her and me sitting reading a book. Whilst he was playing I went and hobbled to get a drink. Passed a little boy who had dropped a ball by my feet, so I bent down (in the 5 minute way I've become accustomed to this past week) and I felt an explosion of pain (much worse than other post operative pain) in my right side, between belly buton and bikini line. It was horrific, I hobbled back to my seat as quickly as I could (so no one could see me cry!) Now even when I sit down, lie down it bloody hurts! My friend said she was back in work after a week and that I should see the doctor. But I know people heal at different rates, so not sure if this is 'normal' or not?! Any ideas?

Why not phone the ward you were on and get their advice? They will be able to contact the surgeons (or on-call team) if they think it's worrying or give more advice over the phone.

Walkingthroughawall I thought of calling them, but I know how very busy they are. Not to mention feeling terribly embarrassed if they told me it was normal Blush if I still feel the same in the morning, I will push the embarrassment to one side and give them a call!
