Hi all,
I am just looking for a bit of advice. Since the end of last year I have been having heavy periods that are longer and have lots of clots (sorry tmi), increased discharge, pelvic pain, bleeding after sex and between periods and bladder troubles.
I have complex-PTSD and so have been especially stressed since last April/May time, I chalked it down for that.
I finally went to the doctors last month as the bladder worries and pelvic pain were worsening - they ordered a smear. The nurse that did my smear noted that I had an ectropion, but that it seemed fine. Due to me bleeding during the smear she fast-tracked me to see a gynaecological consultant.
The consultant explained that I was seeing him to rule out cancer (I didn't even realise this!), he did a colposcopy and he said that whilst my cervix has some abnormalities, he is happy that it is not concerned that they are cancer, he said though that my bleeding problems were coming from the womb and so he performed a D&C and took 3 endometrial biopsies.
He also felt around my abdomen and then ordered a pelvic ultrasound.
I had my smear 3 weeks and 6 days ago, my biopsy 10 days ago and my ultrasound 3 days ago. I am going out of my mind with worry whilst waiting for these results. I called the consultant secretary today to see if the results were back, but they weren't and I was assured he would contact me when they were.

Has anybody got any experience with any of these things? I'm wondering what the average wait time is for biopsy results. I assume that no news is good news?
I have barely anyone to talk to about this as due to my mental illness I haven't many friends really. I am trying to get myself better, raise 3 children, care for my younger brother and help my grandfather, who has suspected cancer. I am really struggling with everything.
I am trying to get on with things but have this big black cloud hanging over me. If the pelvic pain weren't present perhaps I could forget about it for a bit, but alas.
Thank you for reading, if you have got this far.
