Period delaying pill

If you take norethisterone to delay a period does it have a knock on effect for future cycles? So if I make one period a week late, will the future ones also be a week later than currently intended? Or will the cycle following be shorter and the next period be due when it would originally be?

You should still ovulate at the usual time.

Thanks. I had thought it would knock all the cycles back. Was hoping to use it for the cycle before the one I wanted to delay, good job I have checked first.
