anyone had uterine polyps removed?

So I've been referred to hospital after irregular bleeding and nurse seeing what may be a polyp during examination. Consultant had a look today and tried to remove it, it was too painful and bleeding so they suggested I come back and have surgery as a day patient as they are not sure what it is but not to worry. Anybody had a similar experience please? Otherwise I am healthy 47, smears up to date, with 2 dd and just wondering what to expect.

I had one removed as a day patient under GA. I was in a lot of pain when i came round (cervical shock) but it subsided quickly and no issues otherwise. I was warned there may be some bleeding afterwards but I had virtually nothing.

I had to have mine removed under GA as I have a retroverted uterus and it was too difficult (and painful) without. I had some painful cramps after, plus some bleeding, but nothing bad. I wouldn't worry if I needed to have another removed Smile
