I just wondered what you would do. I have the HPV virus and now they tell you which strain and I know it’s one of the cancerous ones. So obviously not great. Have smears every three years, need a LLETZ procedure done about 15 years ago on some abnormal cells and have since had my two children (and copious miscarriages).
I’ve just had the results of my last smear abs I have low grade abnormal cells again and they want me in for a colposcopy. That’s fine, no problem BUT we are TTC again after a loss in September and i just don’t want another LLETZ treatment because of the risk of it causing incompetent cervix. I’m 43 so only another few years of having the slightest chance of conceiving again. I’m thinking I’m going to put off treatment.
Do you think I’m crazy? From what I can see these things only tend to develop into cancer after 10-15 years. I would happily get a LLETZ again when I know my chance of conceiving again are tiny, say two years?
