Colofac/mebeverine for IBS - anyone tried this?

My gp has prescribed me this for my IBS. I’ve only ever taken peppermint capsules before which no longer seem to be working.
Has anyone tried meberverine and did it help?

Mebeverine is great for IBS cramps. I would recommend it.

Yes. It worked amazingly. I hope that it helps Flowers

Oh good, that’s positive, I’ll go get them.

Hi I have used meberverine and found it good at relieving pain and urgency. However for me that’s mostly because it made my appetite completely surpressed so I didn’t want to eat. See how they go for you though. Good luck. Buscopan is good.

My son was prescribed mebeverine yesterday, for bad stomach cramps, they worked straight away,

I've taken one this evening, so far so good so will carry on tomorrow. Took buscopan last week, it really calmed my unsettled digestive system but made me feel really weird and spaced out! Am hoping the meberverine won't do that!

It's not amazing, but it helps a bit.

My son has used both, buscopan and mebeverine and says mebeverine is much more effective, and works quicker
