Chicken pox vaccine after exposure

(not a general debate on whether or not to vaccinate please....)

Hi all. My kids were exposed to chicken pox possibly some time last week at nursery, and/or more likely on Sunday during a long play date with a child from nursery who then developed spots on Monday.

I read online that giving the chicken pox vaccine within 5 days of exposure has a good chance of preventing the disease from breaking out. We gave he kids the vaccination today, so two days after exposure (probably).

Does anyone have experience of this? What are our chances here? We are due to go on holiday this Sunday, hence the panic.
