Candida diet- experiences?

Evening all,

I’m reluctantly considering an anti Candida diet after nearly 3 years of recurrent thrush and other symptoms that all correlate with Candida descriptions. I really really don’t want to but I’m clearly not solving it with canesten and I need to solve it somehow.

Is there any actual evidence that candida diets work? How would I survive given that I’m vegetarian (since birth so not going to change that) and can’t digest eggs? What can I eat? Nuts and greens? I have a tendency to be underweight so I’m wary of losing weight.

I have seen my GP already. Beyond fluconazole and antibiotics I’m not being offered any more advice or any insight into what might be causing this. I suspect the copper iud is a factor but I’m also really reluctant to get that taken out as other contraceptives don’t suit me. I haven’t taken the antibiotics which were offered for a skin conditional afraid they’ll bring the thrush back.

Being 40 is no fun!

@FourOnTheHill did you get any info elsewhere on this diet? Or have you started it and if so how's it going?

I'm trying it now, but only a week in and not seeing much difference.

I did it and it made no difference and then I got the coil removed and have had no problems ever since. It was definitely causing it in my case. Hope you find a solution Rafikils TheBest

Glad it's cleared up for you, and you managed to find a (hopefully permanent) solution.

Thanks
