Catching a tummy bug

I have a couple of probably stupid questions about catching a tummy bug.
My DD has a bad one recently. None of the rest of us seemed to catch it but then 6 days after she had last vomited I started to feel really sick.
Could it take that long for me to get the bug?
I felt very sick on and off for about four days.
Could that be the tummy bug if I wasn't actually sick and had no diarrhoea?

I had similar situation. Dd1 sick in night and I was at 'the coal face' as it were so likely to catch it.

It was a full week for me to feel ill and like you not being sick just felt awful.

Think things affect adults and children differently.

Thank you Queenolives. The reason I'm asking is to try and rule out some other possibilities. I'm really hoping it was the bug. It seems to have gone now so I think it probably was.
