What the hell is this?

So our house has be struck by the pestilence. By pestilence I mean a what seems to be a nasty flu (sore throat, muscle pain, fever, headaches, fatigue). But now I have come out in a very weird rash. My skin in general in a bit red and a bit dry and hot to the touch. But then it seems as if my face, neck and, chest has been sprinkled with millions of tiny whiteheads. At first I thought that they were just tiny pimples but there are far too many. My sons’ school has had a slap cheek outbreak but it doesn’t look like slap cheek. I can’t find anything on the internet to match tho this. Any ideas?

Viral rashes are very common. If it appeared at or around the same time as the virus, it is probably connected to it (and you can therefore ignore it, or treat it if its particularly irritating and itchy).

Viral or post-viral rash

Slapped cheek. I've had this with an all over rash, not just on the face. It's different for adults I think.

My DS has exactly the same at moment, he had a poorly day Friday (sore throat etc) and came out in the rash last night, apart from being itchy it's not bothering him and he's been acting normal so inclined to think it's a viral rash

Thank you all for your replies. Most likely slapped cheek then. I just freaked out a bit because i’ve never had a viral rash before. Any idea how long these usually take to clear up. IT has spread to the rest of my body now and my sanity is really not holding up very well.
