Reflux but mainly in mouth?

Have had acid reflux for a few weeks. No pain at all but just a kind of acid “feeling” in my throat and mouth several times a day. It can make me a bit croaky. Definitely worse if I eat dairy. Dr prescribed omeprazole and although it’s helped a little, I’m still getting the acid feeling in my mouth - it’s hard to explain, it’s not a burning, it’s more of a tingling/fizzing on my tongue. Anyone had anything like this and have an idea of what’s causing it?

I get acid reflux and its not like that for me. I can get terrible indigestion (thought it was a heart attack at first but had all the tests and its not). I take Omeprazole on and off too. Sometimes I get acid burning my throat and wake up all sore but often its a little vomit in the mouth is all. I have been coughing for a year solid now and after all the tests have been told to go back to stronger doze of Omeprazole and give it a few months - otherwise I now have "chronic persistent cough" yay! Sorry that's no help at all is it?

Thanks ally. Yes, yours is totally different to mine. I get no indigestion, I don’t get it at night and there’s no vomit. I wondered if it could be an issue with my throat rather than stomach? But I guess the only place the acid could come from is the stomach?

Did you have to have an endoscopy?

No as it was quite obvious in my case with the burning throat and chest pains though I did have heart checks and later chest x-ray and breathing tests (to rule out asthma), lung cancer, etc. Maybe you are lactose intolerant?

I’ve had issues with lactose in the past but it comes and goes every few years with different symptoms. But with this, though it’s worse with dairy, it’s happening every time I eat - whatever I eat.

I get that with reflux too.

Omeprazole didn't work well for me.

Have you found anything that does?
