Flu without a cold?

Is this possible?

The DCs have been ill for the last couple of days. Fever, tired, not themselves, pale, not eating much, achey. They both have a slight cough, and are slightly snotty, but it's the fever that seems to be the biggest factor.

DP and I are coming down with it, and it feels like we have flu. Can you have flu without cold symptoms?

I think you definitely can have flu without a cold as I don't think that is one of the defining factors of flu
However, I don't think it's a case of "coming down with" flu - in a noticeable way. I think it's very sudden. So it sounds like a virus of some kind but perhaps not flu. But I'm not a doctor.

No, me neither!

I think it might be a flu-like virus, but probably not actually flu if that makes sense? The DCs seem a lot better today but still not 100%. I'm going to keep DS off school for another day.

It was quite sudden for me. I was fine until about 5, then by 8pm it felt like someone had stuck a balloon pump in my lymph nodes Sad

I think we're all just ill. And I'm so fed up of illness in this house right now!!
