Rash or bruise or...?

I had an itch in the shower yesterday, quite a bad one, on my thigh. I scratched it, but not to the point where I hurt myself.
Now I've been left with the rash/bruise in the attached image.
It doesn't hurt

Is it just a bruise where I've scratched too hard? Does being in the shower while doing that make it worse, as I've never had this from scratching normally?

Wonder had you got bite maybe? Do you bruise easily? Wouldn't have thought shower would affect it thy. Sorry not much help op.

I have checked for bitey lumps and cannot find any... I think I must have just scratched too hard, but it doesn't feel like a bruise, it doesn't hurt at all. Thanks anyway :)

It looks very much like a rash that you’ve scratched very hard (and scraped the skin).

Do you bruise easily otherwise?
If you are worried that there is something wrong that is making you bruise unusually you would be best seeing your gp.

I do often find bruises that I don't realise I have, so probably just to do with combo of me scratching and bruising easily. I was just a bit put out as I thought it would die down overnight and it didn't at all. I can be a bit of a hypochondriac, but thank you for your replies. You've helped ease me mind.

It really didn't feel like I was scratching that hard Confused, but if I come up with another one like this I might go and see the GP, just to be super safe.

Hello, I had a similar thing happen from rubbing an itchy, nerve burn feeling on my thigh. Plus I get linear petechial rashes like that all over. Did you get any answers? My doctors are miffed by them.
