‘Bulge’ in breast tissue

About 2 wks ago I noticed that the dense, fibrous tissue in one of my breasts had a noticeably larger bit in it - not a lump but definitely a bulge in the tissue. Went to GP and have been referred for a mammogram & further investigations.
Anyone had similar? Or could tell me what might happen next?

hi there, sorry you're going through this. I can't tell you what it might be....but remember if you're fearing the worst that breast cancer is extremely treatable.
My experience of a referral was....go along, be prodded by the consultant, off to mammogram, then straight to ultra sound, they weren't happy with that so took a biopsy. Though they couldn't tell me definitively it was quite strongly indicated to me that I wouldn't be getting good news.
I went back a week later and um it was breast cancer (i'd felt a lump)....
But a year on and I'm absolutely fine... I had a lumpectomy, radiotherapy, no need for chemo and honestly the actual treatment was simple. Physically I've felt worse with flu.
They are incredibly kind to you I've found at these appointments, they realise it's alarming and do everything they can to make it less so.
If you've got any other questions feel free to DM me...or join us one hte cancer thread, it's for anyone waiting for results too..and everyone there is very kind. The waiting for tests and results is commonly acknowledged to be a bit tricky....
Also remember that 9 out of 10 lumps are benign....and most of them are easy to deal with.

Thanks so much for replying #freddie. I’m glad things have gone well for you. I’ll head over as you suggested, just biding my time until my appointment next week.
