I'm 44 and in October my periods went haywire and I have pretty much been bleeding constantly. Some days just when I wipe but occasional flooding, typically at awkward times.
I went to my GP in January and she sent me for u/s which showed a small fibroid but otherwise clear and healthy.
She recommended the coil but because I had 3 sections she felt it best that a consultant fit the coil.
I had the appointment yesterday and he was lovely but felt that the coil alone would not be sufficent and to ensure best outcome he recommended an abalation first and he would fit the coil at same time all under general and I have a date for 3 weeks time.
Has anyone had this done, whats the recovery and did it work?
Any feedback appreciated.
