I've had a persistent hemeroid for over a year now and they've finally referred me to the hospital to have it banded off..

Has anyone else had this?
How long is the procedure?
How long did you have to take off work?

I've got a million questions and I'm so scared!

Doesn't sound too bad - not surgical and no hospital stay and able to work the next day hopefully. Good luck!

I was referred to have this done by a surgeon but a week later when I got there a different surgeon wouldn’t do it as said the hemmaroids were superficial. I was told by the referring surgeon that it is very quick, takes minutes to do. Hope it goes well. I’m interested to hear as no doubt I will end up having it done too.

Thank you so much for your replies!

Its the not knowing that gets to me.

I'm just curious as to if my referal date will be when they band them off or if they just look and tell me I need another appointment?

I was refused too though they drive me crazy. I'd think the referral will be a consultation with the banding later if they do it.

Thank you, but what a pain! I have to travel an hour away from home to the appointment too. so if I have to go back it will be a right farse!

I'm going to give them a ring when my letter comes through see what's what.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hope your problem gets sorted too!
