Is anyone else waiting for smear test results?

Just wondering if anyone else is in the same position and is also (probably unnecessarily) fretting. It's been nearly 3 weeks since my smear, and I know the NHS aims for 2 week return of results. Have been checking the post each day like a mad woman, and nothing yet.

Waiting is not the one!

I had mine a few weeks ago and had a similar wait. I googled and apparently there has been a delay in getting results out within the two week target. I wouldn't worry yet. Mine came just before 3 weeks I think.

Happened thanks for replying - if yours came in 3 weeks then fingers crossed I might get mine tomorrow. I'm not sure if delays are normally nationwide or by hospital/area though. overduemamma when did you have your smear done?

It was only on tuesday last week. Nurse said it can take up to 2 weeks to have the letter sent. Ring your local hospital and see if they've processed it x

I had one today and the nurse told me between 3-6 weeks for the result due to a long waiting list.

Got mine today, just over three weeks. And all clear, which is a huge relief as had some issues last time. Phew. Thinking of all others waiting for results. X
