It's a tiny wound, but obviously I am worried about tetanus. I can't get hold of the surgery to find out when he last had a booster shot as it's Saturday and they are closed.

Should I take him to minor injuries? In the snow... I am sure they have more serious things to deal with.

How old is he? Is there a record of vaccinations in his red book maybe?

extinctspecies · 03/03/2018 11:36

He's 16, so we are way past the red book stage.

I called 111, they asked a load of completely irrelevant questions.

I then phoned the MIU who said there's no need to bring him in unless it gets worse - he should be covered by his childhood vaccines.

I think they have a tetanus booster in high school usually (our year nine have just had theirs I think), so he should be covered if he's had all his at school jabs.

You can was with hydrodgen peroxide if it is a non bleeding wound...
