For the past few days I've been feeling quite tired, had a slight head ache and have that fluey feeling where you just feel very delicate. It's not particular bad, not enough to keep me from working. Seems to get worse late afternoon and I just want to get into bed and sleep.
I am a bit anaemic, but have been for a while and have only felt like this the last 2 days. Also have suddenly developed very very dry skin on my legs and around my lower stomach and hips which seems quite random. No other symptoms, just quite thirsty which I'm assuming is the headache.
Any ideas if this is a virus or if I'm just run down?! Getting a doctors appointment is nigh on impossible so I don't want to waste their time.

I had all those symptoms, left for ages but eventually went to my GP and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. It's always worth checking.

Don't know about the dry skin bit, but as for the rest, do you have a carbon monoxide alarm?
Have you checked that any flus or ventilation grills are not blocked by snow, or frozen shut?

Carbon monoxide poisoning is a risk in very cold weather, not least because people unearth ancient heating, or block ventilation.

A lot of patients are being seen for skin complaints at the moment due to the cold dry weather. We had six come from out of hours for steroids and emollients with dry skin on Tuesday night. Just FYI.

If it continues for more than a week go to the doc. Its very easy to become run down and some viruses can just make you feel like you described without actually turning into much more. Take your vitamins, drink plenty and eat as well as you can, and paracetamol and ibuprofen always makes me feel like a new person when under the weather! Hope you're better soon.

I’ve had to open a few windows here - I too have been suffering and have worked out it’s the hit dry air in here. Normally I have windows open but it’s been sooooo cold here I haven’t. I’m itchy too, dry mouth.

Oooh dirty really? Interesting!

Thanks for all the replies and apologies for going MIA! Have had a lot of snow here and it's been quite mad. I now also have swollen glands and a sore throat, so it is probably some kind of virus. If it continues into next week I will try to see the GP.
Just inside trying to keep warm and hydrated now. Will resist the urge to go and build a snowman!

Oh and I've been smothering myself in Aveeno which has helped greatly with the dry skin. Interesting to hear many others have been suffering, @dirtybadger
