I've mentioned this in menopause section but hoping to get some more experiences.

I'm 47. Missed two or 3 periods at the end of last year but have now been bleeding for almost 6 weeks. I've always had heavy periods but for the first 3 weeks this was severe flooding. (Soaking through clothes despite doubled up pads and super plus tampons. Huge clots.)

Went to GP who gave me some progesterone tablets to reduce the flow and referred for unltrasound and blood tests.

Bleeding started to slow so didn't take the tablets in end but it has continued. Some days only light spotting but others still fairly significant amount (but not flooding or clots)

Re blood tests : showed anaemia but have started spatone which has resolved it in the past.
They also did fsh and lh which I didn't think were classed as v useful now?? Anyway they were fsh 5.4 and lh 6.8 which I think suggests that I'm not actually anywhere near menopause (?)

Still waiting for scan appointment. Heavy bleeding is mentioned in some of the articles but no where near as much as other symptoms so starting to get anxious about what is causing this.

Disclaimer: DH has been diagnosed with a life limiting illness which means I am very aware of being ok for DC's. Has definitely meant a bit of health anxiety has kicked in ...
