HELP - I think dd may have swallowed aspirin

She thought it was water but it was my soluble aspirin. I saw her lift the cup adn take a sip. I screamed, she spat it straight out and says she didn't swallow it. she is 6

I'm sure she will be fine. If it was only a sip it wouoldn't do her harm even if she did swallow it.

The risk of aspirin with small children is that there is one (very rare) disease that children get, that seems like a 'flu, but if you give them aspirin when they have this disease, it makes them much much worse.

It's very very unlikely that your DD has Reye's syndrome, so I really wouldn't worry.

hi just to let u know my 3yr old dd has a heart condition and has been on asprin since she left hospital after her first operation soon after she was born, she takes 37.5mg each day. she would have to be taking about five times that on a regular basis for it to do any harm.
