thrush down there again - what's causing it?

So apart from when pregnant with DDS I haven't had thrush, now I've had
3 bouts since before Christmas, it goes with the caneston DUO but has returned in around 3 weeks. I just wash with water and don't use fragranced washing powder due to DS's excema. It's so uncomfortable and making me miserable - what to do?

Your dp could be passing it back to you if he hasn't been treated

Diabetes is also a thrush issue. Unlikely but worth checking.

Go to go and ask for something different if canes ten not working. But make sure your partner treats his bits if your having sex.

rossoitalianovinq · 26/02/2018 19:26

thankyou I hadn't thought of that - I'll ask him to go to GP.

can I just ask if DP can use Caneston or does he need to go to GP?

Have you been to your GP? Is it definietly thrush?

bonzo77 · 26/02/2018 19:42

I’d suspect that it’s not thrush. Massively over diagnosed. BV, dermatitis both possible culprits. In my case it was dermographia: basically just very very irritable skin. Exacerbated by hormones at certain times of my cycle (just before my period. In fact the first symptom of my last pregnancy was NOT having the itch). Easily solved.

madeyemoodysmum · 26/02/2018 20:10

Yes he can use the same cream.

juddyrockingcloggs · 26/02/2018 20:40

Do you use perfumes sanpro such as always? I had this exact problem and didn't realise until I read a thread on here. Iv stopped using them and haven't had it since.

ImperfectTents · 26/02/2018 21:03

I splashed out on some pricey shampoo and had the same issue. Finally worked out the shampoo was irritating me in the shower

Jamielyn · 27/02/2018 11:44

Are you on any contraception? the coil gave me on BV

gamerchick · 27/02/2018 11:48

It might not be. BV is a pain in the arse as well. There’s a test over the counter now to test to see which one it is I’m sure (unless I imagined it).

Don’t take the tablet too many times. It has a warning on the label about liver issues if you do. Tesco do the pessery duo.

I kept getting it and eventually linked it back to using Aldi sanitary towels. Might be worth thinking about what period products you use!

rossoitalianovinq · 27/02/2018 17:42

thanks for the advice everyone, I'll consider your suggestions. Where would we be without MN Flowers

When was the last time you had your blood glucose levels checked?

LemonMuffin837 · 27/02/2018 17:46

Me and my DP both had thrush at the same time once, we both used caneston and it cleared it up for the both of us.
