Infection spreading from tooth abscess ?

I have had terrible tooth ache all weekend but dentist can fit me in until tomorrow, last night I started showing other symptoms including a gunky eye and a painful ear, I also feel fluey, I have a fever and have hardly moved from bed all day, I feel pretty awful. My symptoms are getting worse and I now have body aches and head ache. Could the infection have spread? Should I be worried ? Obviously I am concerned by how ill I feel.

Call your dentist and ask? 111? Could be a co incidence.

I'd call the dentist or your doctors surgery - sounds like they can't do anything TIL infection is under control

It could be a sinus infection? I get awful pain in my jaw/teeth when I have one brewing.

Call your gp immediately. They should fit you in.

Spoke to the dentist this morning, they can’t do anything until tomorrow Sad

Worried as I am a single mum to 2 disabled children, I have no one to help Sad and I’m worried I will get worse.

Yes please ring GP. If they won't see you go to see a pharmacist to discuss. On two occasions members of my family have been sent to A&E by a pharmacist. In both cases they needed urgent treatment. Good luck.

Abscesses can get really nasty. Get on the phone to 111 sharpish, if you can’t get out to see someone.

I had a root abscess once, it was the sickest I’ve ever been and was put on all sorts of drugs. You have my sympathy.

Can you get an emergency dental appointment? Ring 111
Yes, infection can spread and in rare case can cause endocarditis. All the best. Flowers

Tomorrow’s appointment is a emergency appointment Sad

I have seen the gp, he didn’t examine me or anything, just gave me antibiotics.

How are you feeling OP? Hope you are much better.

Lovemusic33 · 27/02/2018 14:47

Went to the dentist this morning, booked in for extraction next week after antibiotics have cleared up the infection. Feeling a bit better this afternoon after sleeping most of the morning. Getting terrible stabbing pains in my head but hoping they will vanish soon.

Oh good, I'm glad you were seen and are feeling a bit better and soon you'll be rid of that tooth.
