Since starting sertraline my clitoris has shrunk.

Been on sertraline for a few weeks now, for anxiety and depression. Mentally it's really helping.
However, my sex drive has all but gone, and my clitoris has more than halved in size Confused
Is this normal? Will it come back?

How old are you? Where does the anxiety and depression come from?
It might be worth perusing the mental health boards as there are threads about sertraline. It does reduce libido whilst on it from what I understand but don’t panic I have not heard of it not coming back.

SSRIs do decrease libido, it will probably come back eventually.

When I was on medication it killed my libido (tried a variety of SSRI and SNRI). In the end the lack of libido became more of an issue than the depression.

I’m 43.
Anxiety and depression are normal for me, but exacerbated by a family situation, so I’m hoping it won’t be long term.

Mine didn't come back while I was taking it. After I finished it did to a certain extent but it's harder work now. It's a known side effect unfortunately and one of the reasons I stopped taking it.

Oh that’s a bit depressing.

It is also worth looking at menopause issues too. It may be tied in with that. Have a read of the menopause matters site’s forum as there are a few people there dealing with antidepressants and meno issues. I have reduced clitioris and labia due to menopause but they still work 😉 Sometimes hormones can help and sometimes they make it worse. It is a complicated issue so it is worth reading about.

It's a common side effect of setraline and difficulty orgasming.

I take Sertralne. The only time it affected my libido and ability to have an orgasm was when the does was higher than 100. At 100 I am fine. Nothing has shrunk. Shrinkage much more likely to be menopausal than Sertraline.
