I’ve asked both GP and pharmacist this but I’m still confused!

I know to start taking it 3 days before my period is due which on my average cycle makes it day 26, however my cycle is very irratic varying from 15 to 42 days so when should I start to take it?

Is this to delay your period? I think it will work at any point in the cycle, so I would take it a for a few days before whenever you need to not have a period. Does that make sense? When you stop taking it you will have a bleed after a few days.

Yes @Allthebubbles is right - it can be taken from any point in the cycle. My gynaecologist recommends taking it from day 14 of the cycle for period delay just to be on the safe side and ensure period does not start.

My cycle can be a bit erratic too - am early 50s. However, my period usually starts with 2 or 3 days spotting and I've found if I start norethisterone then, the bleeding will stop completely within 24 hours, maybe even a little less than that.

Thank you all, you all made so much more sense than what I was told today, you ways are all so much easier to understand!
