Confused by dr letter

I have a life long auto-immune condition and have yearly full blood tests and consultant appointments as standard. All good. (Its type 1 diabetes but they keep an eye on all auto immune data)

At my last appointment a few weeks back the consultant said my control was fine etc etc and that my thyroid results were ever so slightly elevated but he will just order a blood test in 3m but see me as usual in 12m unless he calls for me following the blood test. Well understood and fine.

I always receive a typed copy of the appointment notes a few weeks later and my GP gets a copy too.

On this letter there is a comment not at all mentioned in clinic to my gp saying "i need to see a full biochemical profile and albumin:creatinine ratio urgently so please order blood tests and urine samples. 'My name' will be seen in the specialist relating clinic in 2 months time"....

Say what? Surely thats not just thyroid elevation? I know the urine test is for kidney function but i assumed that was fine as nothing was mentioned in clinic? What specialist clinic am i being sent to lol?

I have called my consultant and left a message for one of his team as he's currently out of office. Ive rang my gp but they havent received their copy of the letter yet.

A bit worried that hes found something in my results since clinic. Does anyone have any experience?
