Emergency IUD

I stupidly had unprotected sex on Friday. I've been considering getting the IUD anyway so I'm thinking this might be the better option for me rather than taking the morning after pill. But having looked online, it says the appointment to fit it is 20-30 minutes long, and I think it needs to be done by a doctor, rather than nurse. In the case of it being an emergency fitting, presumably this can't be done in an on the day GP appointment which is usually 10 minutes? Should I try to book a double appointment? Do I tell the receptionist what it's for? Or am I better to go elsewhere rather than my GP surgery?

Can't remember if it's a doctor or nurse but pretty sure it's not done in normal appointment times.
Generally it's done at either a special clinic at the gp's or at a sexual health center, both tend to be sit down and wait places at certain times but be sure to ask first as it may also need a special appointment booking.
