Please help, the stress is really affecting me.. life changing treatment if this goes wrong, and not sure my dentist is doing things correctly..
I have 2 wobbly front teeth, my jawbone is shrinking fast and i have all my wisdom teeth, so my front teeth are being pushed forward and my entire profile has changed. Dentist is going to pull out 4 front teeth and fit a plate.
However its all been rather casual (private dentist and i've already paid £700 for treatment up front through a Madenta loan, briefly -
First appointment - small amount of vaseline applied to front of top teeth, alginate mould taken. Upon removal a lot was left in my mouth (still found pieces 2 weeks later) mentioned i might need to come back as a lot 'pulled away' .. i then realised no colour match had been done.
I then had a severe allergic reaction to something (anaphylaxis) and doctor was unsure if it could've been the Alginate, rang dentist, told he'd ring back which they didn't, so after 3 days rang again to be told he'd look for alternative.
Appt 2 today, original teeth pulling day so had arranged 10 days off work (self employed, no holiday pay). No alternative to alginate found, so no choice but to use first incomplete mould for my plate. Then told dentist going on holiday..
Will this first and only mould have sufficient detail for the plate to fit properly? I have to deal with customers at work, so need to be able to talk!
Other thing is, he says we are taking out the teeth, and putting in plate immediately. To be worn 24 hours a day (to stop the gap closing) for 6 months.. I'm really anxious about infection especially if the plate doesn't fit well, and already suffer from chronic sinusitis.
