Horrific cramps and bleeding

About 4 months ago ( 2months post partum) I began experiencing horrible stomach cramps made worse by sex as well as pain and bleeding after sex. This pain and bleeding would last for a few days max.

I had the implant fitted in September but so far periods have been quite regular with occasional spotting. This month had gone slightly haywire though wand I only had a 2-3 day period which is unusual for me.

So anyway went to the doctor who sent me for a transvaginal ultrasound and said to come back and see a female doctor for a pelvic exam. Day of the pelvic exam comes and I've got my period so she cannot do it so I rebook. I went for the ultrasound on Tuesday and since Tuesday evening I have had the same cramps and bleeding only the cramps are much much worse (I would compare them to contractions). I was meant to have the pelvic exam this afternoon but as I am now bleeding again she cannot do it.

Does anyone have any ideas or similar experiences of what on earth is going on here. And is it normal to have such bad cramps and bleeding after a tv ultrasound?

You should be seeing a gynaecologist.

Endometriosis may be a possible cause of your symptoms here (deep pain during sex can also be indicative of this as is pelvic pain that is cyclical). Also this would not be detected on an internal ultrasound scan. It is not normal either to have bad cramps or bleeding after an tv ultrasound.

I think my GP did do a gynae referral so waiting to hear about that.

Doesn't anyone know the implications something like endometriosis may have on my fertility. DS was a happy 'accident' so it wasn't like we were TTC or anything like that.
