Take a look at my dd's rash - is it just excema?

My dd (5) has excema, and when it flares up, she gets a strange mottled rash around it. She has it very badl at the moment. Is it just excema? Or some sort of reaction?

You probably can't see very well from the photo, but it is a faded sort of purple rash. I am going to make her an apppointment to see the doctor, but by the time we get there, it will probably be gone.

i have pics of me and both mine right after birth in my wallet

hard to tell from the photo, does she scratch much? could it be bruising from scratching maybe?

The all over rash isn't itchy itself, but occurs around a very itchy area.
