Come back down here and I will rip them out for free..............

If you have infected me, my handsome DH, my even more handsome DS, I will kill you.

Is that clear ??

Are you sure it's tonsilitis? There's no chance it could be glandular fever is there? I only ask because I had that and it was misdiagonosed. I only found out when I'd had it for over a month and had been doing all the wrong things- I suffered the after effects for years.

Tonsilitis is bacterial though isn't it? So antibs if it gets bad. Or was I dosed unnecessarily throughout the 80s...

The vast majority of tonsillitis is viral. It used to be treated with ABs but now they are rarely prescribed. Its just a case of regular paracetamol and some ibuprofen if you need it. I find it particularly good to get soluable paracetamol and gargle with it before swallowing (!) as it has some local effect too.

I speak as a woman who has already had tonsillitis three times this year Hope you feel better soon

Never mind her, she stayed at my house this weekend. Am I now running a house of disease and pestillence ??

VeniVidiVickiQV · 30/04/2007 23:17

Thanks folks...I was over-prescribed AB's as a child for tonsilitis.

I have very definite pus-ey tonsils, so im quite sure. Have been taking doses of paracetamol and ibuprofen together which is helping. Pain is getting worse inbetween though.

Ho hum.......
