MIL sweet smell

MIL is a former heavy smoker who has vaped for two yrs. Lately she smells kind of sickly sweet. She is thin and not huge eater. Any ideas what the smell might be?

If it’s like pear drop breath it could be ketones which among other things could indicate diabletes .

If she is vaping flavoured liquids it could be this. They re quite pungent.

I'd agree with others who've suggested vape "juices", maybe she's changed to a particularly sweet one? Could also be oral thrush if it's her breath that smells sweet. Could you check to see if her tongue is coated with thick, white stuff?

It is absolutely not a vape juice smell-- smell is human smelly if you know what i mean

Thanks for ur input i'm going to tell her abt the fruity smell and suggest she goes in to be tested

Does sound like ketones. Very distinctive smell.

My friend had an infection and smelt sweet, once it was diagnosed and she had antibiotics, it disappeared.
