Cervix erosion/ectropic

I am 5 months PP and have suffered with a non-stop discharge since giving birth. After many trips to the GP, swabs and a smear, I finally got a gynae referral. After examination, Doctor informed me my cervix was ectropic/had a small erosion. She said this is very common, especially after pregnancy and can be treated. She also said this is what can cause the discharge and irregular spotting (I don't have that).

Next will be a closer look on a microscope and a biopsy (to check for pre-cancerous cells that the smear may have missed - apparently they do this as standard?) and then if all clear, a procedure under local to restore the cervix back to normal.

A little frightened by the whole thing if I am honest so any advice or sharing of experiences would be massively helpful please?

Thank you.
