white patch on baby's tongue?

hi, my dd 8month old has had a few colds and tummy bugs recently and went off her food. for the past few weeks i've noticed a persistent white furry patch in the centre of her tongue. its not milk, as its still there hours after any milk and drinks of water and food. i can only think its something to do with her digestion... has anyone else had this or have any idea what it could be?
thanks..

i agree with burstingbug!

Sounds like thrush to me too. You can get some Daktarin (I think its called) over the counter at the pharmacy which is a gel you put on. Or you can see your GP for a prescription of a solution to put on. Either of them will confirm what it is.

oh, too slow!

moodlesoup · 29/04/2007 19:17

thanks everyone. i've got some daktarin from my breast thrush episodes, so shall have a go and also take her to the doctor.
thanks so much, it really helps to get such a speedy answer! i've been puzzled for weeks.. doh
