Has anyone else experienced this? During a blood test (initially to look for anaemia) My "Free T4" result was 40.9 when a normal result is between 9 and 24 - so really quite high. My GP says it shows an overactive thyroid. She has referred me urgently to endocrinology. She said it may be Post Partum Thyroiditis as a result of having my youngest son 4.5 months ago. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this and if it went away on it's own or medication was required? I've been experiencing some symptoms but just thought it was my body getting back to normal post baby. I've already been prescribed propanalol for palpitations which I thought was due to stress but this explains that away! (I wasn't feeling stressed!) Any advice would be much appreciated.
