Bartholin cyst anyone?

Has anyone any experience of having a Bartholin cyst?

I have had one grow to what feels the size of a small egg last week and after having a catheter fitted and fall out the same day it is harder and sorer than it was to start with. Any advice is most welcome

I had one a few years ago, it was very large, I had it removed at the hospital

Did you ever have the catheter put in to try and drain it?

No I was just sent to the hospital and had it removed under general anaesthetic, mine was very large though

I've had them. The second time I was advised to wipe some pure tea tree oil on it. Seemed to tighten up the skin ever so slightly, which I think was enough to create a small opening in the cyst, and it then started to drain. I now use tea tree oil for every skin complaint. It's magic!

Contact your doctor again and tell them it's more painful now and your catheter has fallen out

Maybe try sitting in a warm bath if you can manage it

Thank you all. I’ve just spoken to the hospital and they have given me an appointment to go back in tomorrow morning.
